Shoreline Stroll - Mosaics - 2012

The artistic goal for this project was to create way-finding imagery to correspond with eight bus shelters, A through H. We chose to produce LithoMosaic sea creatures ranging from bi-valves (shells) for Station B, crabs for Station C, Diatoms for Station D, Echinoderms for Station E, a feather for Station F, and so on. The stations are decorative and educational and they direct riders to their proper stations and lead to the nearby aquarium. The sizes vary from the 32’ feather to a 15’ crab to an 8’ echinoderm skeleton. We incorporated artist Bhavna Mehta’s one color, one sheet, cut paper designs into major LithoMosaics, exploring the science and reach of electricity.
